“When all world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around, heaven opens a magic lane”
– Somewhere Over the Rainbow
It’s August and if you’ve followed me online for the past five years, you know that means it’s the #BEinyourskin 31 Day Body Confidence Challenge. What’s that meant in the past is my blog and social media platforms focus on themes, activities, photo challenges, videos, etc. that help build body confidence and self esteem.
This year has been different for me, for the months leading up to August, I had ideas for videos and photoshoots I wanted to produce, things I wanted to say and then August came closer and closer, I still sort of felt uninspired. I had phone conferences with colleagues discussing options and yet I couldn’t spark the inspiration flame. I still feel so passionately about empowering people to love the bodies they are in, feeling confident and powerful as their authentic selves but something has shifted. In the past I have created at all means necessary, at the determent to my own bank account and my peace of mind. I think it’s with age, or with adulting but that isn’t fulfilling to me anymore. To create just to create, has a time and place but with so much going on in my personal life, it doesn’t feel authentic.
My cousin, who I felt very close to, passed away suddenly in a car accident in late July. I have been in a fog of sadness, family responsibility and really questioning my own purpose. After speaking at his memorial, spending time with loved ones and really taking a moment to grieve this loss, truly knowing I will miss him forever, I have moments where I feel that passion spark again.
I will create more again, I will continue in this space and beyond but I didn’t have much to give for this August. I thank you all for understanding and giving me the space. The month isn’t over, so we will continue on with our reposts on Instagram, our #Comment Conversations, our pool party on the 17th!, and a huge video project coming this month that I’m SO excited to share with you all.
Thank you all ++

I suggest if you’re tall to get a longer length, Loud Bodies does customizations. I will be posting more blog posts, styling this dress in a few different ways!
